PO-05-085 ENHANCED PAUSE ALGORITHM FOR INSERTABLE CARDIAC MONITOR REDUCES CLINICAL REVIEW BURDEN
نویسندگان
چکیده
A critical feature of an Insertable Cardiac Monitor (ICM) is to identify clinically significant pauses/bradycardic events in patients (pts) with unexplained syncope. Reducing the number false positive pause episodes will reduce clinic review workload. To evaluate enhanced detection algorithm and clinical burden evaluating while maintaining high relative sensitivity increasing specificity. The development set consisted 1033 real world stored LUX-Dx (Boston Scientific) ICM (347 pts) which were selected include more low signal noise ratio (SNR). Another independent test 728 Pause (93 was randomly from a large pool sequestered patient episode data adjudicated by two experts until agreement as uses proprietary two-step detect/confirm process: step 1 detects when R-R interval longer than programmed threshold, 2 confirms (or rejects) suspected after analyzing for broadband myopotential signal-to-noise ratios (SNR) (undersensing). Using (1033 episodes), we have this reject pauses caused amplitude signals. (FP) reduction 62.5% Development 48.6% Test set. Further, pt-level FP ranged 31.3 - 74.1%. No previously detected true positives eliminated either or sets. This maintained sensitivity, exhibited substantial pauses, would decrease device clinics preserving detect important events.Tabled 1DatasetNumber PatientsNumber episodesRelative Sensitivity (%)Reduction (%)Development347103310062.574.1Test9372810048.631.3 Open table new tab

Implant Evaluation of an Insertable Cardiac Monitor Outside the Electrophysiology Lab Setting
BACKGROUND To date, insertable cardiac monitors (ICM) have been implanted in the hospital without critical evaluation of other potential settings. Providing alternatives to in-hospital insertion may increase access to ICM, decrease waiting times for patients awaiting diagnosis, and reduce hospital resources. METHODS This was a prospective, non-randomized, clinical trial involving nine clinica...
متن کاملSafety Profile of a Miniaturized Insertable Cardiac Monitor: Results from Two Prospective Trials.
BACKGROUND Insertable cardiac monitors (ICMs) are used to continuously monitor the patient's electrocardiogram. In response to patient activation or based on automated device algorithms, arrhythmia episodes are stored and automatically transmitted daily to the clinician. Thus, ICMs can be used to diagnose arrhythmias in at-risk patients and in those with symptoms potentially attributable to arr...
متن کاملClinical review: Continuous and simplified electroencephalography to monitor brain recovery after cardiac arrest
There has been a dramatic change in hospital care of cardiac arrest survivors in recent years, including the use of target temperature management (hypothermia). Clinical signs of recovery or deterioration, which previously could be observed, are now concealed by sedation, analgesia, and muscle paralysis. Seizures are common after cardiac arrest, but few centers can offer high-quality electroenc...
متن کاملMATLAB CODE FOR AN ENHANCED VIBRATING PARTICLES SYSTEM ALGORITHM
Vibrating particles system (VPS) is a new meta-heuristic algorithm based on the free vibration of freedom system’ single degree with viscous damping. In this algorithm, each agent gradually approach to its equilibrium position; new agents are generated according to current agents and a historically best position. Enhanced vibrating particles system (EVPS) employs a new alternative procedu...
متن کاملA Technique for Improving Web Mining using Enhanced Genetic Algorithm
World Wide Web is growing at a very fast pace and makes a lot of information available to the public. Search engines used conventional methods to retrieve information on the Web; however, the search results of these engines are still able to be refined and their accuracy is not high enough. One of the methods for web mining is evolutionary algorithms which search according to the user interests...
